Lasting Powers of Attorney
Who would look after your financial affairs if you were unable to do so through illness or incapacity? A Lasting Power of Attorney for your Property and Affairs gives you the opportunity to choose the person who would do so. A 'Welfare' Lasting Power of Attorney enables a chosen third party to make more personal decisions relating to your care and medical treatment.
The alternative is for a 'Receiver' to be appointed in the Court of Protection. This procedure is cumbersome and expensive.
A Lasting Power of Attorney does not take away your own right to deal with your money and property, but gives similar rights to a person of your choice. Many Lasting Powers of Attorneys are made as precautions just in case they are ever needed.
When incapacity strikes through illness or accident it is invaluable to have a Lasting Power of Attorney in place.
We are happy to visit you at home if this is more convenient.
